Anywhere and anytime

As promised, I’m back to share my findings of the week on the latest gadget that I had found on the internet.

Taking photos could be part of someone’s hobbies or lifestyle. Taking photos can be as easy as pressing the “shoot” button on your camera, but what if you want to scan the pretty photos that you took into your computer? I know it’s quite frustrating and time consuming to actually scan the thing that you want into your computer. However, with this new scanner, scanning is not that tedious after all.

Moreover, this scanner is portable, which can scan anything 8.5 x 11 inches in size or smaller, anything on standard paper and thin cardstock at least. Though, the scanner can only scan at a resolution up to 600 dpi, it should work fine for business or casual needs.

One of the special features in this portable scanner is the “Pick Me!” function. With this function, it allows anything that is being scanned by this scanner to be saved to the memory card/stick in the blink of an eye. As for the price, it is around $150 USD which is quite reasonable if you are the one who travels a lot and prefer portability to quality.

Personally, I do scan documents frequently for school work. Thus, this scanner would not be appealing to be as it does not scan out good quality pictures that I required. However, I wouldn’t mind considering it as my choice if I’m the type of user that travels a lot.

Can’t believe I own the smallest thumb drive in the world!

I am so proud to say that I actually own the smallest thumb-drive in the world! But again, I am not the only one who actually owns this world’s smallest thumb-drive.

You might be having one too, yup, the thumb-drive is manufactured by SanDisk. This USB thumb-drive has the size of a paper clip and it is light. Although the thumb-drive is small, never underestimate its capabilities. It comes in different storage size with the maximum size being 16GB.

As a user of the thumb-drive, I think that besides its storage capabilities, it is also very space efficient in the sense that it doesn’t take up much space from your pencil case etc. Therefore, if you are looking for a thumb-drive that can fit into the small pencil case of yours, this thumb-drive will be a good buy for you.

See you all next time with more interesting news.

For "Tron" fans out there

Time flies, it marks the end of the mid semester break. Well, life still goes on and looking back at the wonderful moments during my holidays makes me feel great. Alright, back to the sharing of the latest gadget news that I came across in the internet this week.

I was planning to get myself a new keyboard which can suits my gaming needs. Apparently, I came across a gadget news update on a latest gadget related website. On the first glance, I somehow got attracted to it. It is based on the Disney’s creation “Tron” as their theme. Clueless on what exactly is “Tron”, I got even more curious to find out. Googled “Tron” and “Tron” was actually a science fiction film from Walt Disney’s at 1980s. Inside the film, it is all information technology and how humans can manipulate them.

“Tron” is related to the new gaming peripherals created by Razer after all. Talking about the keyboard, it has a unique design decorated with programmable keys, macro recording capabilities, and a detachable number. The keyboard is surrounded with glowing blue stripes on its sides. Pricing is set for US$79 to US $139 and the availability of the keyboard is still an unknown.

Personally, I am not a fan of “Tron”. In fact, I have never heard of it until I read about it. The keyboard’s design is truly unique and pleasant looking. Sadly, the keyboard is still waiting to be announced for release. That could also be good news for me, it would then allow me to start saving up to get it. For the gamers out there, who are looking to change their keyboard soon, may consider this as one their picks.

With that, that would add another new gadget release to my post. Stay tune for more!

Feeling lonely?

Yup, I am back to share about some interesting findings about new gadgets. So far, I have shared 2 gadgets with you all which are a thumb-drive which “transforms” and a cool keyboard. I hope you all would like them.

Back to today’s topic, from the title suggested “Feeling lonely?” what kind of gadget came across your mind? Would it be some games related gadget that allows us to occupy ourselves?

Well, this gadget that I’m sharing today is more than a game. Maybe I should call it a pet? Then again, wouldn’t it be like some electronic pets that are released long ago already?

This is how they look like...

I came across this cool gadget news from the internet while doing research. This so called pet is actually powered by USB. This also means that it can only be on your computer desk area or wherever the USB ports are. What does this USB pet got to do with loneliness?

                                     Cool packaging? Thumbs up!

If you have no one to chat to around you or online, you may feel the lack of companionship. This is when pets come in, if you are someone who already owns a pet dog or cat, you may not be interested. But by having a pet that does not mess up your place, at the same time it keeps you accompanied, isn’t that wonderful? It would be something nice for me but I would still prefer my computer games to accompany me more.

As for the features of this USB pet, it is available in 2 colors, red and blue light. It uses a touch technology that is sensitive to touches. Unfortunately, if you are anticipating that the pet will dance or sing for you, it would be sad news for you. Basically, the pet reacts to the “toucher” the one who touch it, then it react to the touch by lighting up their eyes. The pet can be put to “sleep” by holding on the pet longer. The price of this device cost around £35.00 or about $50 USD.

More than just a keyboard

Hi, I’m back again to share more interesting findings of the new gadget release. This week, I came across some new and cool gadget releases. I’ve picked something that is more relevant for our daily usage, it a keyboard!

                                 The Asus EeeKeyboard

You must be thinking what is so cool and interesting about a new keyboard release. Well, you might change your perception towards a keyboard after reading the post. First of all, it is a new device manufactured by Asus, named Asus EeeKeyboard.

The size of it is about the same as the usual keyboard that we are using and weighs about 1.1kg.

                                Touch screen keypad

The main differentiation of this keyboard from others is that it is a computer itself. Surprised? Powered with touch screen technology, it replaced the conventional number pad.

Besides that, it serves as a mini monitor for the keyboard. With a resolution of 800x480, it also has an in built HD chip underneath enabling users to watch HD video.

Operating on a Windows XP operating system, which is a more “stable” operating system in terms of bug-free than other Windows operating system.

It has a variety of wireless ports in built to it which includes Wi-Fi and UWB (ultra-wideband) and more. With UWB, the Asus EeeKeyboard can connect and stream wirelessly to any HDTV inside its reachable range.

This may seem impractical for us to bring it to school and travel around with it. The fact that we can already surf the internet from our phone makes this keyboard look redundant. This keyboard could be useful for home users, the function of connecting wirelessly to HDTV seems to be convenient. Furthermore, if you are a person who wants to be unique and different from others, you won’t mind getting this.

Apparently, this new keyboard is not available in Singapore yet. For those who are attracted by this cool keyboard, you can always pre-order it on any online stores available. More information can be found here

Transformers- Gadget that "transforms"

I’m sure everyone watched or is familiar with the movie “Transformers”. In that film, it features robots who can disguise themselves by transforming into everyday machinery.

For the gadget that I’m sharing today would be something related to “Transformers” and it is disguising itself into something small and something that we are using every day.

Still guessing hard? Yes, if you are still wondering what the gadget is, you are probably not imaginative enough. Some “Transformers” fans in Japan created their desired “Transformers” robots into something that is useful and creative.

For the collectors of “Transformers”, you all will need to add in one more items into your collections. Besides collecting action figures, posters and key-chains of “Transformers”, it will be a thumb-drive for this time round!! The “Transformers” thumb-drive is based on a robot in “Transformers 2” named Ravage. The sad thing is, there are only limited robots that are featured in this “Transformers” thumb-drive series.

Moving on, the specifications of the thumb-drive include a storage capacity of 2/4/8GB with a read speed of 8MB/sec and a write speed of 7MB/sec. The write speed of 7MB/sec is considered to be average, a typical fast thumb-drive claim to read up to 30MB/sec and write at about half of that.

A thumb-drive that can actually “transform”, even though it may lose out in the performance wise, I’m sure it will still be a successful invention. More information can be found here.
